DM Endowment Fund
A shared legacy of dignity, opportunity, and upliftment.
Overview
Alhamdulillah, Dean Mousad has responded to treatment well and his skin cancer has been effectively carved out. Yet this experience has been a reminder of how fragile life is. The DM Endowment Fund has been established as a perpetual waqf, not only to honour Dean's legacy, but to invite the wider community to carry it forward as their own.
This Fund is a collective commitment to the causes Dean has devoted his life to:
- Supporting people experiencing homelessness, sickness and isolation
- Uplifting marginalised young people
- Providing access to education and essential life skills.
Returns from the endowed funds of this waqf aim to sustain the following types of projects across Australia:
✅ Brothers in Need programs for marginalised youth
✅ Brothers in Need homelessness programs
✅ Brothers in Need psychosocial support programs for the most vulnerable segments of the community
✅ Distribution of care packs for the isolated and disadvantaged in collaboration with community partners
✅ Wraparound programs for recovery from addictions in collaboration with community partners
Brothers in Need has been a registered charity since 2015, with operations in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne so far, volunteers from over 40 countries and numerous community partners as listed on its website: https://brothersinneed.org.au/.
Through this waqf, every contribution becomes part of a lasting sadaqah jariyah, a shared legacy of dignity, opportunity, and upliftment.
Dean has always lived by the mantra:
“Many hands make light work.”
This Fund embodies that belief. When a community unites with sincerity and purpose, even the most ambitious goals become achievable.
Dean’s leadership has long been defined by integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. May this Fund be a source of strength for his family and for your family, the community, and a lasting legacy of service, dignity, and collective upliftment.
Let this waqf be more than the story of one.
Let it be a movement carried by the hands of many.
All contributions are tax-deductible and managed by Awqaf Australia.
