Overview

This Waqf is dedicated to establishing Australia’s first Islamic Hospital, beginning with Palliative Care and Acute Inpatient Care for Older Adults — a sanctuary where compassion, dignity, and the remembrance of Allah guide every step of a patient’s journey. Its purpose is to create a place where Muslims can receive care that honours both their humanity and their faith, especially in their most vulnerable moments.

All contributions to this Waqf are permanently endowed. The capital may remain in financial form or be transformed into long-term assets — land, buildings, and essential infrastructure — so that one day, a purpose-built Islamic Hospital can open its doors. Every asset acquired becomes part of the eternal waqf, standing as sadaqah jariyah for all who contributed.

Yet we recognise that building a hospital takes time.
And illness does not wait.
Families do not wait.
Death does not wait.

Therefore, before the hospital is built, this Waqf will also serve Muslim patients and families in need today. It may help deliver palliative care services and supports — whether in existing hospitals or at home — so that no Muslim faces their final days without spiritual comfort, compassionate assistance, or the dignity that our faith commands.

This may include:
• guidance and navigation through palliative care,
• culturally aligned support for families,
• spiritual care and Qur’anic recitation,
• home-based palliative supports,
• or any service that brings mercy and ease to the dying and their loved ones.

Your donation is not only an investment in a future hospital. It is an act of compassion for those suffering right now.

Investment returns and income from waqf-owned assets will support the planning, development, construction, and long-term sustainability of the Australian Islamic Hospital, while also uplifting Muslim families who need help today.

The hospital will by Allah's Grace be community-owned and community-driven. A place where every Muslim, regardless of circumstance, can find dignity, mercy, and spiritual comfort at the end of life. A place that becomes a source of ongoing reward, ongoing healing, and ongoing light for generations.
